Work hard and then play hard!

I feel this was the motto my parents raised us with! Or one of their mottos at least!
Case in point; one morning at the farm, Grampa and Tristan came in from feeding cows and Grampa says, Well what are you guys up to today... helping me fix some fence?
Really? You want our, so called, help.  Sure! We would love to!

So here we are; fencing crew = many hands make light work... or was that, much work!
But really, look at that beauty we are surrounded with, doesn't look much like work to me!

Work hard: Fencing with 5 kids

Take a short nap: Need to re-energize

Play hard: Canoeing and biking with 8 kids

Rope swing shenanigans!

Remember that time 21 members of my crazy family went to a 1 bedroom, boat in only cabin, in 40 degree heat?!
Oh wait, I got the numbers switched... it was only 12... just felt like more because 8 members of the group were under the age of 7 and 3 of those were not yet 1!

Anyhow, I just found a chunk of pictures I had misplaced on a USB drive and these videos of the rope swing adventure were on it! Too good not too share!

Turns out my favourite one is the last one where Mom takes a turn... not me, but MY Mom!
Go crazy Gramma go!

The craftiness continues

I am starting to feel guilty again about the length between posts.
We had a super fun, busy weekend and I am tuckered out and off to bed.
So here are 3 pictures instead of a wordy story.

The first 2 are Jax and Mya's quilts that I started... well, before I even had kids, as I used squares from another project I was once planning on doing... and finished this March.

The 3rd is a project that Shayla and Tristan created... probably while I was quilting. :)
Can you guess which one is Tristan's creation?!
